The demands for our bathroom spaces to be bolder, more useful and more spa like were never stronger than in the last decade. Today we will explore the bathroom trends of the last decade. How many of these trends did you embrace?

1.       Matte Black- From faucets to cabinet hardware and paint, matte black was definitely in.

2.       All White-Thanks in part to Chip & Joanna and the farmhouse style, white everything including walls, trim, tile and décor provided the blank slate homeowners craved after the super ornate style of the 90’s.

3.       Freestanding Tubs-No longer allowed to take up the majority of the bathroom space, freestanding tubs are more compact and offer a beautiful aesthetic.

4.       Modern Farmhouse-Thanks to Chip & Joanna Gaines’ for making this style popular.

5.       Geometric Tile-Subway tile will always be in style, but hexagon, diamond and squares began to make a name for themselves in bathroom spaces.

6.       Gray-this cool, modern neutral color showed up everywhere. Fabric, paint, flooring saw the biggest surges of this color.

7.       Rain Shower-Never before has water falling from the sky been so popular.

8.       Bold Colors-Colorful vanities, accent tile walls, and unique art-some people weren’t afraid to go big!

9.       Big Showers-Many clients are opting for no tub in favor of a larger shower to include multiple shower heads, plenty of elbow room and a bench.

10.   Funky Tile-Accent walls, colorful shapes and colors-the options are endless.

11.   A Unique Twist-a funky mirror, a show-stopper light fixture or a funky wallpaper, clients were willing to add a splash of fun to their space.

12.   Antique Furniture-Repurposing an antique chest for a vanity add an element of warmth and character a new piece just can’t do.

13.   Brass & Gold Hardware-Light fixtures, cabinet hardware, faucets and accents were hugely popular this past decade.

14.   Cement Tiles-Decorative cement tile, whether on the floor or a backsplash, was a top pick in showcasing your personality in your kitchen.

15.   Quartz Countertops-clean, modern, antimicrobial, low maintenance-what isn’t to love about quartz countertops?!
